Weekly Tip - Small Business Cheques for less!

Weekly Tip - Small Business Cheque Orders for less!

Recently, I noticed that our small business was running low on cheques, and went to our Bank's website to fill out the web-form.

During the cheque re-order....I got to the part detailing the fees...and was shocked to find that the price for our cheques was going to be $170 for 250 cheques!

I also noticed that the bank sub-contracts their cheque order/printing to a separate company called Intuit. I also did a bit of research and found that almost every financial institution directs their clients to "outside" firms for cheque printing.

Anyway, this seemed like a LOT of money, and so I started asking around and found a couple of other source that charged significantly less for cheque printing:

1) Costco

If you have an executive membership, for $90 you get 500 cheques PLUS 500 pre-printed envelopes as a bonus. (This is where I ordered our cheques, and had absolutely no issues - the order process was smooth, delivery was timely, the cheques look basically identical and worked just fine).

2) Minute Man Press

A local Medicine Hat Company (call Dean @ 403-529-0007) can also provide cheques at a very reasonable rate...no envelopes, but it is really nice to be able to keep your business local (always a bonus!)
